about-us

We are designers and shopfitters, cooks, gardeners and travel writers. It was through our shopfit and design business requiring us to travel extensively throughout Australia and abroad that we experienced some 350 varied Boutique Accommodations. We felt we could draw on our existing in house talents and expertise, and, from our experience as customers, we were full of ideas and excited by the prospect of creating something truly special.

I am a passionate cook and have been contracted by magazines to share my knowledge of cooking and preserving. We have published The Retreat’s first cook book and now run regular cooking classes. In the past few years we have studied the Italian way of growing, cooking and preserving produce. By traveling and cooking with some amazing chefs and Nona’s in some 350 classes around the world. And now we are proud members of Slow Food International.

Peter is an avid gardener and grows beautiful produce onsite for The Retreat’s kitchen. In the garden you’ll find figs, plums, quinces, nectarines, oranges, limes, lemons and apricots, nuts and many of our own vegetables and herbs. We just can’t wait for each new season to begin. The abundance of produce certainly creates excitement in the kitchen enabling us to make delicious healthy food for our guests to enjoy all year round.

Over the years we have grown our small boutique hotel to achieve world recognition with wonderful support and many returning guests.  We have a dedicated team spoiling our guests and spotlighting the quality experiences and diversification of regional Australia.

At The Retreat at Froog-Moore Park we are committed to using great quality local produce wherever possible. We hope we can spoil you soon.
